Opportunities to Volunteer

Below is a brief description of various volunteer opportunities available every Saturday night.

Greeters: We need people who are willing to shake hands, offer a smile, and talk with individuals as they arrive. Greeters need to arrive at Flood by 4:30 P.M.

Food Preparation: Each week, we provide a hot meal for an average of 250 people. This is a great way for a small group to get involved together. Those preparing the food need to bring the food fully cooked and prepared and be ready to serve. Drinks are already provided.

Security: We need individuals who are willing to monitor activities outside the Flood room during service. Typically, this person would ensure a safe and calm environment for those that remain outside.

Clean Up Crew: These individuals would help clean up trash inside the building and outside in the parking lot after service.

Prayer Warriors: We need people who are willing to approach others after service, talk with them and pray with them.

Drivers/Passengers: Each week, we transport an average of 80 individuals to and from Flood. We need individuals who are willing to drive a van and others who are willing to ride along as the passenger to each destination.

Food Distribution: Each week, we distribute 3 different types of food boxes. The boxes with cooking items are provided, but we need volunteers to help prepare the boxes with non-cooking items and snack bags for those in recovery homes. This area would entail purchasing items and sorting in box or bags. (list of items will be provided). This is something that could be done at home and then delivered to Flood.

Hygiene Distribution: Once a month, we provide hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. We need volunteers to donate and prepare the hygiene packs for distribution. This is another area where the preparation work could be done at home and then delivered to Flood.

If you are interested in becoming involved at Flood, either one time or regularly, please contact Kim Albers at (661) 213-7697 or Shawnette Bishop at (661) 747-3542. You will be blessed!
